Reflections 2004

1. What did you do in 2004 that you’d never done before?
Went to America.
2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
No resolutions for this year. Next year I have a handful of goals...
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.
5. What countries did you visit?
The US.
6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
Home cooked meals!
7. What dates from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
I can't remember EXACT dates but some of the most significant moments are: seeing Manhattan for the first time, watching my eighteen-month old nephew Tyler trying to copy me playing with a golf ball, watching Tyler jump for the first time, closing night at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC (my best performance ever).
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Almost everything this year has been a response to a situation of some kind. I've felt I've gone with the flow in 2004. In 2005, I hope to have a bit more control of my future.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not speaking up enough.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Some minor injuries from dancing. Tonsilitis. No flu this year YAY
11. What was the best thing you bought?
The bullnose ring drawer that holds just about all of my clothes, and my newest suit (a black two button number from Morrissey).
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
I'm at a loss for names. No-one seems to have achieved anything significant this year in 2004. I'm happy that Alicia Molik ended the year ranked 13th. Otherwise, everyone else can go get stuffed!
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed/disgusted?
Everyone that voted for the Coalition and George W Bush.
14. Where did most of your money go?
My car.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Making things with my computer.
16. What song will always remind you of 2004?

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

sex

Drinking
20. How will you be spending New Year's Eve?
Rooftop, watching the harbour fireworks, drinking the wine that I bought on the SA tour through the Barossa.
21. Did you fall in love in 2004?
No.

One. And alot of *almost*s

Kath and Kim, Six Feet Under, Arrested Development, Sex and the City, Queer as Folk
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Yes.
25. What was the best book you read?
Bill Bryson - "A Short History of Nearly Everything": yes, I do have to read more fiction. This text reminds us that Mother Nature is powerful on the scale of Hollywood...
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
For myself, I discovered Franz Ferdinand. That led to other bands like The Darkness, Scissor Sisters, The Killers...
27. What did you want and get?
An overseas tour.
28. What did you want and not get?
A change of government.
29. What was your favorite film/s of this year?
The Motorcycle Diaries, The Incredibles, Angels in America, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Elephant.
30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 28. I had the day off work and I had lunch and afternoon drinks with workmates and dinner with a friend. The next day I only worked half a day and found myself doing a harbour cruise on a fabulous Sydney sunny afternoon. That weekend I picked up.
31.What one thing would have made your year measurably more satisfying?
A boyfriend.
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
Chocolate.
33. What kept you sane?
My love for solitude.
34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Gael Garcia Bernal. Or maybe Jake Shears.
35. What political issue stirred you the most?
The ongoing fighting in Iraq. Why did we allow this situation to occur?

Tyler, Grant, Matt, Greg, Paul, Luke...
37. Who was the best new person you met?
With Tyler growing so fast and learing so quickly, I'd have to say my Nephew...

None. I need to take more control of my life.
